Major in mechanical engineering

Mechanical engineering is one of the broadest engineering disciplines; our graduates are problem solvers. You will learn to communicate effectively, design mechanical systems and find answers to real-world problems.

Why study mechanical engineering?

Mechanical engineering is a broad field that includes everything from aerospace engineering to fluid mechanics to biomedical applications. Mechanical engineers may work with nanoscale materials invisible to all but the most powerful microscopes or they may design massive airplanes or rockets, but they all share a focus on engineering moving systems.

Mechanical engineers need a strong background in math and science, creativity and problem-solving skills, and a desire to understand how things work. With this skill set, mechanical engineers are able to find work in a wide range of engineering fields or collaborate and consult in fields such as business, law and marketing.

Accelerated programs

These programs allow highly qualified students to earn a bachelor's and master's degree in as few as five years.

Pathway Agreements

Our Pathway Agreement programs are designed to transition TMCC students into the University to obtain a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
